The Kyiv City State Administration has announced renovation work near the ‘Luk'yanivska’ metro station following the Russian attack: what will change
"Lukyanivska" Metro Station in Kyiv
A temporary above-ground pedestrian crossing is to be installed in Kyiv near the ‘Lukyanivska’ metro station. This decision was taken after the underground passage near the station was damaged following an attack by the Russian Federation.

The Kyiv City State Administration announced this on Telegram.

However, installing the temporary traffic lights will take some time, as the brackets need to be fitted and the power supply connected.

Preparatory work is currently underway at the site. Once the traffic management plan has been agreed with the Kyiv Patrol Police Department, municipal workers will apply road markings and install the Kyiv City State Administration’s traffic structures.

As noted by the city administration, the temporary crossing is being created to ensure the safe movement of pedestrians in the vicinity of the metro station.

Initially, the crossing will operate as an unregulated crossing.

The Kyiv City State Administration clarified that once the installation of the consoles and the connection of the power supply have been completed, the temporary crossing will become a controlled crossing.

The temporary pedestrian crossing is being constructed near a public transport stop.

As a reminder, on the night of 19 July, Russia attacked Kyiv. As a result of the shelling, civilian infrastructure in several districts of the capital was damaged, including the area near the Lukyanivska metro station.

At that time, damage to residential buildings was reported in several parts of the city, and fires broke out.
