The NBU is to issue a 2-hryvnia coin to mark the anniversary of Symon Petliura’s death
This was announced by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The National Bank of Ukraine has unveiled a commemorative coin marking the “100th anniversary of the commemoration of Symon Petliura”.
The coin is being issued to honour the memory of Symon Petliura – a statesman, military and political figure, head of the Directory of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and Chief Ataman of the UPR’s armed forces.
The year 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the death of Symon Petliura.
The National Bank noted that Petliura became a symbol of the Ukrainians’ struggle for independence and statehood in the early 20th century.
Denomination and mintage
The commemorative coin has a face value of 2 hryvnias.
Up to 50,000 coins will be minted.
The coin will be issued in a souvenir pack.

Around the edge is the inscription “100th Anniversary of Simon Petliura Remembrance Day” and a wreath from Simon Petliura’s diploma bearing the inscription “UNR”.
