The SSU is conducting searches at National Police units in three regions
On the morning of 20 May, searches began at the regional headquarters of the National Police in the Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zhytomyr regions. The information, along with photographs, was published on Telegram channels.
This is likely to be a large-scale anti-corruption operation being carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine.
Some Telegram channels also report the detention of several high-ranking officials whilst receiving unlawful benefits.
According to the published information, all those involved have allegedly been charged under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Among those named in the reports are:
- V.V. Vorobey, assistant to Deputy Minister of the Interior Teterya
- S.V. Bezpalko, Chief of Police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region
- V.V. Yatsyuk, Deputy Chief of Police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region
- First Deputy Head of the Investigative Department of the Ternopil Regional Police, A.B. Tkachyk
- I.D. Hulevaty, Deputy Chief of Police of Zhytomyr Region
