The US president reacted sharply to protests against immigration policy, accusing Democrats of conspiracy and defending the head of the Department of Homeland Security.

US President Donald Trump commented on Friday's mass protests against his immigration policy, accusing the Democratic Party of corruption and attempts at insurrection. He expressed his position on the social network Truth Social.

Trump publicly expressed his support for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, whose resignation is being sought by Democrats in Congress. According to the president, the attacks on her are related to the fact that, in his opinion, she has been effective in her duties.

The White House chief said that the migration crisis at the border, which he called the legacy of the previous administration, had allegedly been overcome. He also claims that a significant number of dangerous criminals have either already left the United States or are wanted for deportation.

Trump emphasised that the murder rate in the United States has reached its lowest level in 125 years, and the country's capital, according to him, has become one of the safest cities in America alongside other large metropolises.

Separately, the president called on Republicans not to bow to pressure from Democrats. He said the protests were being used as a cover for looting public funds in various states, including Minnesota, and to conceal criminal activity.

Trump stressed that he was elected on a platform of strengthening border control and restoring order in the country, adding that the election results have specific consequences.
