Trump made a statement about Zelensky and Putin's negotiations
Trump said this in an interview with CBS News.
The U.S. president emphasized that he remains committed to a peaceful agreement between Russia and Ukraine, despite increasing uncertainty about the prospects of personal negotiations between Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I am watching this, I see it, and I discuss it with President Putin and President Zelensky. Something will happen, but they are not ready yet. But something will happen. We will make it happen,"
– said Trump.
He added that despite the ongoing bloody battles and Russian strikes on civilians, he will continue to push for a peace agreement.
"I think we will resolve everything. Honestly, I thought the Russian problem would be the easiest of those I have dealt with, but it seems to have turned out to be somewhat more complicated than others,"
– said Trump.
According to the American president, his approach to many diplomatic negotiations, whether with Russia and Ukraine or with other countries, is to gather leaders in one room and force them to reach an agreement in real-time, often under his guidance, and not to dismiss any possibility until it happens.
