Triumph in Baku: Taisiya Onofriychuk wins the hoop event

Results of the first day
On the first day of the senior women’s competition, performances with the hoop and ball took place:

Hoop: Taisiia Onofriichuk came top with a score of 30.150 points, ahead of the ‘neutral’ athletes. Polina Karika finished in 7th place.

Ball: Onofriychuk finished 5th, whilst Karika came 12th.
The team’s achievements
Earlier, two ‘bronze’ medals were won for Ukraine by the juniors:

Sofia Krainska — in the clubs event;

Sofia Kulikova — in the hoop routine.
Taisiia Onofriichuk and Polina Karika currently occupy 1st and 9th places respectively in the all-around standings. The competition will continue on Saturday, 2 May, with the clubs and ribbon routines, where the participants in the cross-battles (top 16) will be determined.
