Туреччина показала свою міжконтинентальну ракету «Повелитель блискавок» — Rakea 'Lord of Lightning' (Yıldırımhan)

Туреччина представила «Повелителя блискавок» (Yıldırımhan) — ракетну систему з гіперзвуковою швидкістю та найдовшою дальністю.

This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Defence.

The Turkish Ministry of Defence’s Research and Development Centre unveiled the new weapon at the SAHA 2026 exhibition in Istanbul.

The Ministry describes the Yıldırımhan as the country’s first missile of its kind. The media refer to it as an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Although its name classifies it as an intermediate-range ballistic missile, it is something of a hybrid between a medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) and an ICBM.

According to Türkiye Today, based on the technical documentation presented at the exhibition, the Yıldırımhan has the following specifications:

a range of 6,000 kilometres,
speed of 9 to 25 Mach,
four liquid-fuelled rocket engines and nitrogen tetroxide as fuel.

The developers claim that the Yildirimhan differs from similar systems in its liquid-fuelled rocket engine and enormous payload capacity of 3,000 kg.

Minister of National Defence Yasar Güler stated that the Turkish defence industry has increased its production capacity thanks to investment.

Zelenskyy has called on NATO to step up its support for air defence and speed up the delivery of Patriot systems

During a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO Council in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised the need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences and increase supplies of Patriot interceptor missiles. He also thanked partners for their support of Ukraine and for attending the Alliance meeting in the Ukrainian capital.
