A man subject to military conscription has died in Dnipro after being stopped for a check of his military registration documents. The Territorial Military Administration has launched an internal investigation.

This is stated in a post by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Territorial Coordination Centre and Joint Staff on Facebook.

According to the regional Military Registration and Enlistment Office, the incident took place on 5 May.

During a check of military registration documents, a patrol comprising personnel from the Regional Military Registration and Enlistment Centre and the Special Forces, along with a representative of the National Police, stopped a conscript.

The recruitment centre claims that the detained citizen was in breach of military registration requirements and was liable for conscription.

“During the medical examination, the conscript fell ill, and an ambulance was called. The medical staff who arrived at the scene provided emergency care for 45 minutes, after which they pronounced him dead,” the statement reads.

An internal investigation has now been launched and a criminal case has been opened.

The Regional Military Commissariat added that the management and personnel of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Commissariat and the Special Forces are providing full assistance to law enforcement agencies and cooperating with the investigation.
