All major airports in the Russian capital have been temporarily closed. The restrictions are due to drone activity.

Restrictions have been imposed on operations at all major airports in Moscow, including Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Zhukovsky and Sheremetyevo. This has been reported by Telegram channels.

It is noted that this is the third consecutive day that Moscow’s airports have been forced to suspend operations due to the activity of Ukrainian drones.

Earlier in the night, Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports had already implemented the ‘Carpet’ plan, which involves the temporary closure of airspace. This caused delays to departing and arriving flights.

Earlier, flight restrictions and airspace hazards today affected not only Moscow. They extended over a considerable distance, reaching around 2,000 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.

According to available information, flight arrivals and departures were suspended at all four airports. There are also reports of delays and cancellations affecting over a hundred flights.
