Power cuts have occurred across half the country due to shelling and bad weather: will there be further outages?
Ukraine's power system
As of 24 April 2026, following attacks on energy infrastructure, some customers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv regions are temporarily without electricity.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

“Energy workers are working flat out to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible. Restoration work is continuing round the clock,” the ministry said.

Due to bad weather, over 100 settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions remain without power.

Repair crews are working on the restoration.

However, no restrictions are forecast for 24 April.

Information on changes to the power supply can be found on the official websites of the regional power companies.

Consumers are also asked to use electricity sparingly in the evening hours — from 18:00 to 22:00. This helps to reduce the load on the system.
