The inspection will be conducted in several stages without prior notice, taking into account the experience of modern combat operations and countering unmanned aerial vehicles, and Alexander Lukashenko will personally participate in the process.

On 16 January 2026, a sudden large-scale inspection of the Armed Forces began in Belarus on the orders of Alexander Lukashenko. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

According to State Secretary of the Security Council Alexander Volfovich, the inspection is comprehensive and involves several stages. He said that all measures are being carried out without warning, which should allow for an assessment of the actual state of troop readiness.

The inspection will take into account the experience of the so-called special military operation and its implementation in the units. In particular, it involves checking the security of military units and their ability to counter modern weapons, including unmanned aerial vehicles.

The plan for the inspection was approved personally by Lukashenko. According to Volfovich, the president plans to participate in the events, but he himself will determine which units will be inspected and when.

The first unit to be inspected was the technical support unit. This is one of the largest units of the Belarusian Armed Forces, which stores various types of armoured weapons and military equipment.
