The network of State Emergency Service warming centres in Kyiv has been expanded to 104
In Kyiv, the number of warming centres set up by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has been increased to 104. This was announced on Hromadske Radio by Mariana Reva, Director of the Communications Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
According to her, there are currently more than 1,340 warming centres operating in the capital. Some of them were opened with the participation of socially responsible businesses. There are 104 separate warming centres operated by the State Emergency Service, deployed in 70 locations, mainly on the left bank of Kyiv.
At the resilience and warming centres, residents can warm up, receive psychological support and hot drinks, and leave a request for hot meals. In cooperation with rescuers, the Red Cross and World Central Kitchen, more than 6,500 meals were distributed to people in the past 24 hours alone.
In addition, tent camps with beds have been set up at two locations on the left bank of the capital. They are intended for people who need pre-medical care or have medical indications. Until the arrival of doctors, such citizens can stay at the State Emergency Service's warming centres.
Mariana Reva noted that work on setting up additional warming centres and organising patrols involving rescuers and the National Police will continue. According to her, the necessary personnel reserves have already been formed.
