The first mobile shelter in Ukraine, manufactured in accordance with DSTU standards and certified by the State Emergency Service, has been installed in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv and has already been included in the official map of shelters

The first mobile shelter of the modern type was installed in Kyiv. The structure was placed in the Desnianskyi district in the Lesnyi district at 19 Miliutenko Street. This particular district is considered one of the most problematic in the capital in terms of the number of available protective structures.

The shelter became the first mobile facility in Ukraine to be built in accordance with state building standards and officially certified by the SES. The project also takes into account the needs of inclusiveness. The facility has already been marked on the city's map of shelters and is available to residents during air raids.

Tender procedures are currently underway in Kyiv districts, so the number of such mobile shelters is planned to be gradually increased. The first one was handed over to the city by a responsible business for permanent use without any budgetary funds.

At the same time, the issue of shelter maintenance remains problematic. According to the district authorities, municipal utilities refuse to take the facility on their balance sheet and provide maintenance. Moreover, earlier the utility companies tried to dismantle the shelter, despite its readiness and certification.

The District State Administration emphasises that the mobile shelter is not a political gesture, but a necessary safety infrastructure for the residents of the district, who have been living in conditions of a shortage of protective structures for years. During the war, civilian protection should remain an absolute priority.
