Ukraine is launching a platform to bring back professionals from abroad
This was announced by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine and the organisation Ukraine Global Scholars have signed a memorandum of cooperation as part of the Back2Impact Ukraine project.
The document was signed by Deputy Minister of Economy Daria Marchak, Deputy Minister of Social Policy Ilona Gavronska and President of Ukraine Global Scholars Yulia Lemesh.
Back2Impact Ukraine will become a digital career platform designed to help Ukrainians abroad find job vacancies, internships and employment in government institutions, private companies and projects aimed at Ukraine’s reconstruction.
Who the platform will help
The platform is designed for young Ukrainians, graduates of foreign universities, professionals with international work experience and members of the Ukrainian diaspora who are planning to return to Ukraine or work remotely for the country.
Users will receive personalised recommendations on job vacancies, internships and career opportunities, as well as practical information about returning to and living in Ukraine.
According to Daria Marchak, the return of qualified professionals is one of the key elements of the country’s economic recovery. She emphasised that the state aims not only to encourage Ukrainians to return, but also to offer them real employment opportunities.
Ilona Gavronska noted that the decision to return depends on many factors, but professional fulfilment is one of the key ones. That is why the platform is designed to help Ukrainians find relevant job offers even before they return.
Who will develop the project
Ukraine Global Scholars will be responsible for developing the platform, collaborating with Ukrainians abroad and providing them with career support.
The organisation already has an international network of Ukrainian students, graduates and mentors who are studying or working in various countries around the world.
Yulia Lemesh, President of Ukraine Global Scholars, noted that motivation alone is not enough to encourage Ukrainians to return. In her view, people need to see high-quality professional opportunities and real prospects for development in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Economy expects the platform to become a systematic mechanism for attracting Ukrainian talent and to help unite the state, business, the civil society sector and the Ukrainian diaspora around the country’s recovery.
For Ukrainians currently living abroad, this means the launch of a single digital resource where they can find jobs, internships and the information needed to return to Ukraine on a professional basis.
