Ukraine is ramping up its own arms production and plans to reach a capacity to launch up to 600 missiles and drones into Russian territory every day.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement at a press conference alongside the leaders of the Nordic and Baltic countries.

According to him, Russia launches an average of over 650 drones and between 35 and 100 missiles at Ukraine every day.

“We are responding, and of course we do not currently have the same number of weapons, but we have 300–350 weapons that we are using, and we will reach the number that will allow us to respond to them in full. And, of course, Russia understands that if there are 600 drones and missiles, they will feel this war just as we do, but they will feel it at home,” Zelenskyy emphasised.

The President noted that, by using hundreds of weapons, Moscow is attempting to wear down Ukraine’s air defence. He also warned that the Russians may deliberately alter the flight paths of their missiles and drones to direct them towards European borders — specifically, towards Finland or the Baltic states.

“They may change direction to divide us in Europe, to put pressure on Europe, on Finland, on our Baltic friends, and then use this as rhetoric, claiming it was a Ukrainian attack. That is what they wanted from the very beginning — to divide us, to reduce public support in European countries, and to undermine support for Ukraine,” the President stated.

As one of the key tools to counter Russian terror, Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again proposed to international partners the Drone Deals — a long-term cooperation programme aimed at providing expertise and assistance in defending against massive attacks on critical civilian infrastructure.
