Ukraine received 300 generators from SECI to support regions
Ukraine has received 300 generators as part of support from the South-East Europe Cooperation Initiative. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
The total capacity of the equipment transferred is 1.6 MW, and the cost of the batch exceeds €417,000. The generators are already being transferred to regions that are most in need of backup power due to damage to energy infrastructure as a result of Russian strikes.
Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Lviv will receive assistance. The generators will be installed primarily in hospitals, maternity hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and other social facilities.
The government emphasises that Russia's attacks on energy and utility infrastructure remain systematic. The response to these threats is the development of distributed generation and backup solutions that enable communities to keep medical facilities running, educate children and provide basic services even in crisis conditions.
