Ukraine has appealed to partners for long-range weapons over the past year.

As reported by ThePublic.info, citing a statement by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine has received Patriot systems from Germany.

«We have strengthened the Patriot component in our Ukrainian air defense. I thank Germany and personally Chancellor Olaf Scholz for this joint step to protect lives from Russian terror», – the president announced.

According to Zelensky, the countries «have been preparing this air defense reinforcement for a «certain period», and now the agreements have been fulfilled.

«Russian air strikes are the main bet of Putin in this war; it is through terror that he seeks to compensate for his inability to achieve his crazy goals on the ground», – Zelensky said.
