Ukrainians are training US law enforcement officers to combat drug cartels using drones
This has been reported by the INL, which advises the US government on combating international crime.
Sharing unique expertise
During the training, there was an in-depth exchange of experience regarding the development, testing and tactics for the use of drones, which are advancing at an extremely rapid pace in the Ukrainian context. The American side emphasised the importance of the knowledge gained in countering criminal groups, which are increasingly using UAVs in their activities.
Scenarios and testing
Participants in the exercises in Texas not only studied theory, but also:
-
built and tested drone models themselves;
-
practised scenarios for using drones against transnational criminal organisations;
-
analysed the latest tactics for using aerial reconnaissance.
Staying Ahead of the Enemy
The INL unit emphasises that such cooperation enables US law enforcement agencies to stay ahead of the technological developments of drug cartels. The experience of Ukrainian experts, honed in real-world operations, is becoming a key tool for modernising methods of combating crime at the border and within the United States.
