The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned systems unit struck the Russian frigate Admiral Makarov in the port of Novorossiysk. The Sivash drilling rig was also hit.

On the night of 6 April, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces carried out strikes against the frigate Admiral Makarov in the port of Novorossiysk. This was reported by Robert Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

According to him, drones also struck the floating drilling rig Sivash.

The frigate Admiral Makarov carries Kalibr cruise missiles and is equipped with the Shtil-1 anti-aircraft missile system. During the attack, air defence missiles were launched from the ship.

The operation was carried out by units of the ‘Ptaki’ 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces. It was planned and coordinated by the Security Service of Ukraine. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

The strike on the Syvash drilling rig was carried out by units of the Ptaki 413th Separate Unit of the Raid, in conjunction with the deep strike forces of the Ukrainian Navy.
