Ukrzaliznytsia has expanded its network of resilience points: heat, light and support during blackouts
Ukrzaliznytsia continues to help Ukrainians survive the winter cold and power outages by setting up an extensive network of resilience centres across the country. This was reported by the company.
Currently, resilience centres are operating at 97 railway stations and 50 suburban stations. Even during blackouts, these locations provide warmth from wood-burning stoves, lighting, hot tea, and the ability to charge mobile phones. Here, you can comfortably wait for your train or for the curfew to end. Ukrzaliznytsia notes that even those who are not planning to travel can come to warm up.
In addition, the company has opened 56 emergency carriages in 46 cities. They operate in the Kyiv, Rivne, Ternopil, Lviv, Zakarpattia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in the Polish city of Kholm. Each compartment is equipped with sockets for charging gadgets and power banks, allowing adults to work and schoolchildren to study remotely.
Visitors to the Resilience Carriages have access to microwave ovens for heating food, which were installed by World Central Kitchen's partner. Thanks to this organisation, the carriages are also equipped with refrigerators for storing medicines.
The international organisation All Hands and Hearts has taken care of the children — the carriages are equipped with colouring books, pencils and books, and cartoons can be played for the little ones if necessary. At the same time, in collaboration with the Hachiko Foundation, Ukrzaliznytsia has created special pet-friendly compartments where pets can feel warm and comfortable.
Ukrzaliznytsia is calling on Ukrainians to share information about the points of invincibility with those who do not yet know about them, emphasising that in the conditions of winter and war, it is easier to survive together.
