The government has begun making the first payments of 6,500 hryvnia as part of the Winter Support programme
As part of the Winter Support 2025–2026 social initiative, the first UAH 6,500 payments began to arrive on 6 December. The payments were received by 13,086 Ukrainians from the most vulnerable categories, for a total amount of over UAH 85 million.
The recipients of the aid were: children from low-income, foster and adoptive families, children with disabilities, internally displaced children, single pensioners, and internally displaced persons with Group I disabilities. The funds are transferred to special accounts or via the ‘Diy.Card’ and can be used within 180 days for clothing, footwear, medicines or vitamins.
In total, the government expects to cover more than 660,000 people with the programme. Applications will be accepted until 17 December 2025 via the Diya app or the Pension Fund.
At the same time, for a wider range of citizens, 1,000 hryvnias has been paid out since 24 November — the so-called ‘winter’ minimum assistance package.
These steps are part of the state strategy to support socially vulnerable groups in winter and economic uncertainty.
