The government approved the bill "On Digital Accessibility in Ukraine".
The government has approved the draft law "On Digital Accessibility in Ukraine," which will establish rules for creating websites, applications, and electronic services considering the needs of all users. This was announced in Telegram by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.

"Presented to the government the draft law 'On Digital Accessibility in Ukraine.' These are the rules for developing digital products that help all people conveniently use any online services. For example, this means that on a website or in an application, it will be comfortable to read even in bright sunlight because there will be contrasting colors of background and text, sufficient font size or button size to order something with just one hand," - noted Fedorov.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the draft law extends digital accessibility requirements to both government agencies and private businesses in key sectors: banks, transportation, online stores, healthcare, education, and communications. The only exception is small businesses.

Accessibility will be required not only from websites and applications but also from new ATMs and self-service terminals that will be installed after the law is adopted.

Moreover, service owners will openly report on their accessibility, and compliance with the rules will be monitored.
