The United Kingdom will engage Ukrainian experts for air defence
This was reported by UNIAN with reference to a video message from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The UK, together with its specialists, will bring in experts from Ukraine to help its partners in the Persian Gulf countries shoot down Iranian drones that are attacking them. This was announced by Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a video posted on his social media page.
"We will also bring in experts from Ukraine, along with our own specialists, to help our partners in the Gulf region shoot down Iranian drones that are attacking them," Starmer said.
He also said that the UK had allowed the US to use British military bases for "defensive" strikes in the Middle East.
According to the prime minister, the decision was made to ensure the "collective self-defence" of allies and to protect human lives. He noted that the US would use the bases for a "specific and limited defensive purpose" — to destroy Iranian missiles at their launch site.
"The US has requested permission to use British bases for this specific defensive purpose. We have decided to grant this request to prevent Iran from launching missiles in the region, killing civilians, threatening the lives of British citizens and striking countries that are not involved in this," Starmer explained.
He also stressed that the UK is not joining the strikes but is continuing its defensive actions in the region.
