Ukraine will celebrate Easter on 12 April amid heightened security measures. Due to the threat of attacks, night-time gatherings remain banned, and the curfew will apply without exception

Curfew and services

In most regions, the restrictions will be in force from 00:00 to 05:00. Visits to places of worship are only permitted after the curfew has ended. Believers are urged to:

Watch night services online.
Have their baskets blessed during the day, avoiding crowds.
In the Kyiv region, up to 10 people may be present in churches at night.

Regional restrictions Stricter rules apply in frontline areas:

Kharkiv and Kherson regions: Visiting cemeteries and churches in the coastal zone is prohibited.
Vinnytsia region: Mass gatherings outside churches are banned until the end of 2026.

The authorities emphasise: in the event of an air raid alert, you must immediately take shelter. Large gatherings of people near churches are a potential target for the enemy, so celebrations should be spread out as much as possible over time.
