High-ranking Trump administration officials are moving to live on military bases — The Atlantic
This is reported by ThePublic.info citing The Atlantic.
It is noted that at least six officials have now relocated, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pit Gheset, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, as well as Trump's senior policy advisor Stephen Miller.
According to sources, all of them now reside on bases that provide not only protection from potential threats but also from protests.
The Atlantic reports that Kristi Noem decided to move from a private apartment to a house on the Anacostia-Bolling base after the Daily Mail revealed her residence. Meanwhile, Marco Rubio and Pit Gheset settled on the Fort McNair base, and Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll moved to the Mayer-Gardner-Hall base. Another senior administration official, whose identity is not disclosed for security reasons, was also forced to leave a private house after Kirk's murder and relocate to a military base under pressure from security personnel.
The source told The Atlantic that the increasing demand for housing on military bases has led to a shortage of places, causing some officials to encounter difficulties. For example, the team of U.S. National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard was unable to settle on a base due to the lack of available spaces, a former American official told the publication.
Conservative activist and ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, Charlie Kirk, was shot in the neck during a speech at the University of Utah on September 10. The injured activist was hospitalized, and those present were evacuated from the premises. Several hours after the attack, Trump announced Kirk's death. On September 11, U.S. President Donald Trump promised that his administration "will find everyone" involved in Kirk's murder. On September 12, the U.S. president announced the arrest of a suspect in the murder of 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson. FBI Director Chris Pate announced that Robinson was arrested 33 hours after the murder.
