Overnight, the Russians launched attacks on six regions of Ukraine; there are reports of deaths and injuries

During the night of 3 April and in the morning, Russian troops attacked the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kherson, Chernihiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The shelling has resulted in deaths and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings, infrastructure and civilian facilities.

Kharkiv Region

Powerful explosions were heard in Kharkiv overnight. According to preliminary reports, Russian forces launched missile strikes on the Kyivskyi district of the city.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that the enemy had struck with ballistic weapons. Initially, there were reports of three strikes, but it was later clarified that the Kyivskyi district had been hit by four ballistic missiles.

Several high-rise residential buildings were damaged in the attack. Windows were shattered and a gas pipeline was ruptured. According to Oleg Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, a 63-year-old woman was injured and has been hospitalised. An 18-year-old girl also suffered an acute stress reaction.

Separately, the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv reported a drone strike on the city centre. In the Osnovyanskyi district, a drone struck a four-storey non-residential building. A fire broke out on the fourth floor and the roof, covering an area of 320 square metres. According to preliminary reports, a man was injured.

Zaporizhzhia region

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 856 strikes on 45 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Four people were injured as a result of attacks on the regional centre and the Zaporizhzhia district.

Sixty reports were received of damage to infrastructure, homes and vehicles.

In Zaporizhzhia, following a Russian attack late in the evening, six apartment blocks in two districts of the city were damaged. In the Zavodskyi district, five apartment blocks were damaged, with windows shattered and balconies damaged. In the Oleksandrivskyi district, one apartment block was damaged, with windows smashed and the roof damaged.

Sumy region

On 3 April, Russian forces carried out an air strike on the Shostka community. Initially, one fatality was reported, and efforts were underway to identify the victim. Subsequently, Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, clarified that a 59-year-old woman had died as a result of one of the strikes on Shostka.

Three injured people were initially taken to hospital. A 29-year-old woman is in a critical condition. The injured include relatives of the deceased.

According to Oleg Grigorov, the enemy struck Shostka with four guided aerial bombs in the morning. The strikes hit private residential buildings and a high-rise block.

Also on the morning of 3 April, Russian troops attacked Sumy with strike drones. Hits were recorded in the Kovpakivskyi district and in the central part of the city. Non-residential premises and cars were damaged. There were no fatalities or injuries.

In addition, the Sumy regional police reported that on 2 April, Russian forces shelled 29 settlements in the region. In the Hlukhiv community, a 39-year-old woman was injured as a result of a drone attack. A petrol station and a shop were damaged. In the Shostka and Sumy urban communities and the Bilopil territorial community, apartment blocks and private houses, a hangar, farm buildings, a business premises and cars were damaged.

Kherson region

In the Kherson region, one person was killed and 18 others were injured, including a child, as a result of Russian attacks over the past 24 hours.

Three high-rise buildings, 12 private houses, a veterinary clinic, a service station and private cars were damaged.

Chernihiv region

The Chernihiv region was also under attack over the past 24 hours. In the town of Semenivka, a fire broke out on the balcony of a five-storey residential block following an enemy strike.

In the Chernihiv district, a farm building caught fire as a result of the attack. Rescue workers dealt with the aftermath of the shelling. No reports of casualties have been received.

Dnipropetrovsk region

Last night, Russian forces attacked four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 30 times with missiles, drones and artillery.

Infrastructure was damaged in Pavlohrad and Verkhivtseve in the Kamyanske district. Damage was also recorded in the Nikopol district, including damage to five-storey buildings. The enemy targeted the district centre, as well as the communities of Marhanets, Pokrovsk, Myrivka and Chervonohryhorivka.

In the Kryvyi Rih region, Russian troops attacked the Zelenodolsk community. According to regional authorities, there were no casualties anywhere. According to the Eastern Air Command, air defences shot down 11 enemy drones last night.
