He condemned Russia’s war and left the country: rapper Fuze has died in a road accident
This was announced by his wife, Valentina Berezkina, on the band’s Instagram page.
Berezhkina announced the musician’s death on social media on 2 April. According to her, Brovkov was involved in a “terrible accident” and the doctors were unable to save him. The artist was 46 years old.
Artem Brovkov was one of the founders of the St Petersburg hip-hop group Krec, which formed in 2001. The band’s most famous track was “Nezhnost”, which featured in the film “Piter FM”. From 2013, Fuze also performed as a solo artist.
After the outbreak of full-scale war, the musician left Russia. According to Russian media reports, in 2022 he moved to the US, where he continued to record music and perform.
Why was he added to the ‘foreign agents’ register?
On 28 March 2025, the Russian Ministry of Justice included Brovkov in the register of “foreign agents”. The ministry stated that he had disseminated materials from “foreign agents” and “undesirable organisations”, as well as speaking out against the war. Later, a court in Moscow refused his request to be removed from this register.
As is evident from reports on the court ruling, one of the grounds for the refusal was the musician’s own stance: the court cited the fact that he had publicly condemned Russia’s war against Ukraine and participated in charity events in support of Ukrainian refugees.
Ukrainian blogger Anatoliy Anatoliyovych reacted to the news of Fuze’s death, as reported by UNIAN. In his comment, he recalled that he had corresponded with the musician at the start of the war and thanked him for his stance.
