Zelenskyy meets with Macron before talks with the US
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on the eve of talks with US representatives. He wrote about it on his social network X.
Macron stressed that Ukraine, European countries and the United States are in favour of ending the war and achieving peace, while Russia continues its aggression. According to him, France will continue to stand by Ukraine's side to build a security architecture that will guarantee Ukraine's sovereignty and stability in Europe in the long term.
The French president also thanked the Ukrainian, European and American negotiators who joined the search for ways to end the war. In response, Zelenskyy thanked Macron for his support and emphasised close coordination with partners.
The Head of State noted that Ukraine and France are working together for the sake of collective security and coordinating positions on the eve of key diplomatic meetings. The conversation took place against the backdrop of preparations for international negotiations in Berlin, where leaders of a number of states, as well as representatives of the EU and NATO, are expected to meet.
