Президент України зустрівся з королем Віллемом Олександром, обговорив оборонну підтримку, ситуацію на фронті та спільні кроки для досягнення справедливого миру

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an audience with King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands on 16 December at the Hague's Heij ten Bosch Palace. It was reported by the Presidential Office.

The Head of State thanked the Netherlands and the Dutch people for their consistent solidarity with Ukraine, as well as the King personally for supporting the Ukrainian state. Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine highly appreciates the contribution of the Netherlands to strengthening the country's defence capabilities and resilience in the face of a full-scale war.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further provision of defence assistance to Ukraine. The President informed the King about the situation on the battlefield, as well as about Russia's constant missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities, communities, critical infrastructure and residential buildings.

Special attention was paid to the issues of accountability for war crimes and joint efforts with partners to achieve a just and lasting peace. Zelenskyy noted the active participation of the Netherlands in the Coalition of the Willing and thanked for the joint work for the security of Ukraine and the whole of Europe.

The Netherlands remains one of Ukraine's key partners. Earlier it was announced that in 2026 the country plans to allocate 3.5 billion euros to support Ukraine, including for defence and security.
