Zelensky awarded a recognition to an 11-year-old volunteer from Denmark
This is reported by the presidential press service. Jens began helping Ukraine last year when he saw news about Ukrainian children who lost their homes due to Russian aggression. Since then, he has been making Easter decorations – blue and yellow beaded chicks. Through sales, the boy has raised over 34,000 Danish kroner. With this money, Jens purchased school backpacks and supplies for Ukrainian children affected by the war of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
“I am very grateful to you on behalf of all our people, primarily Ukrainian children. You know that they are now under Russian attacks and trying to survive. Because they love Ukraine and have such friends. You are a great friend of Ukraine,” said the president.
The presidential award "Future of Ukraine" is a new honor approved by Volodymyr Zelensky by decree on May 29 of this year. And the very next day, he issued the first decree for the awarding of 24 children. Jens Fog Thomsen became the first foreigner to receive this award.
