A video has emerged from the scene of the Russian strike on a nursery school in Sumy
On Wednesday, 6 May, explosions were heard in Sumy during an air raid alert. Prior to this, the Air Force had issued a warning about drones heading towards the city.
According to local Telegram channels, the explosions occurred after 10:00. Eyewitnesses reported smoke rising from the scene, as well as repeated explosions and new drones.
Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that two attack drones had struck a civilian building in the city centre. He said that a rescue operation was underway and that the attack was still ongoing at the time of the report.
Artem Kobzar, Secretary of the Sumy City Council, clarified that two drones had been recorded striking a nursery school building.
A fire broke out at the site of the strike. All necessary services are on the scene, and the evacuation of people is ongoing.
According to available information, at least two people have been injured. Details regarding other consequences are being clarified.
