As a result of an overnight strike on Chuvashia, a key Russian defense industry facility was damaged, and a fire broke out on its premises.

Ukraine’s Defence Forces carried out a strike on the “VNIIIR-Progress” plant in the city of Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic, Russia), which was involved in the production of navigation systems and key components for Russian missiles.

According to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, cited by ThePublic.info, a strike was recorded on the plant’s territory during the night of November 26, followed by a fire.

The “VNIIIR-Progress” facility was responsible for manufacturing:

  • GNSS receivers and antennas for GLONASS, GPS, and Galileo satellite systems;

  • “Kometa” modules, used in Shahed-type kamikaze drones;

  • components for the Iskander-M and Kalibr missile systems;

  • UMPK guidance modules for aerial bombs.

At the moment, the extent of the damage is still being assessed by the military.
