61% of Ukrainians trust President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Meanwhile, 73% of those surveyed trust Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and current Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).

Only 21% of respondents do not trust Zaluzhny. At the same time, 34% of Ukrainians do not trust Zelenskyy. Compared to April, Zelenskyy’s trust rating has remained virtually unchanged.

Among other government officials, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi (70% trust), and the head of the President’s Office, Kirill Budanov (also 70%), enjoy high levels of trust. 52% of those surveyed trust Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

After Zelenskyy and Zaluzhny, the highest levels of trust among citizens are held by the Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov (52%), Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov (50%) and the Head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Kim (47%).

The lowest trust ratings are held by Yuriy Boyko, leader of the parliamentary ‘Platform for Life and Peace’ – trusted by just 6% – and Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of ‘Batkivshchyna’ – with 11% trust.

The most notable rise in trust levels over recent months has been for Mykhailo Fedorov — from 38% to 50%. Trust has also risen for former President Petro Poroshenko (from 19% to 26%), MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (from 22% to 28%), Terekhov (from 44% to 52%) and Syrskyi (from 46% to 52%).

Trust in Oleg Lyashko has also risen: in February 2021, 23% trusted him, and this figure has now risen to 47% thanks to his military service.
