The Verkhovna Rada has passed Bill No. 6506-1 at its second reading and in its entirety; under the bill, the salaries of State Emergency Service rescuers and police officers will be increased.

This is stated in the summary of draft law No. 6506-1.

This decision was supported by 269 MPs. According to the document, police officers and emergency service personnel of the State Emergency Service are to receive a salary equivalent to 10 times the minimum subsistence level (currently 3,328 UAH for able-bodied individuals).

They are also to be paid allowances under the updated system for length of service, post-specific salaries, funds for special ranks and bonuses. The salary allowances are planned to be introduced from 1 January 2027.

“Police officers temporarily serving outside Ukraine will continue to be paid in the national currency and will receive remuneration in foreign currency in accordance with the rules set by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine,” the Rada’s press service added.

Today, the Rada also backed amendments to the 2026 State Budget. The document increases spending on the security and defence sector and provides for additional funding for the reserve fund.
