In the temporarily occupied town of Novoazovsk in the Donetsk region, a bridge over the Hruzkyi Yelanchik River has been partially destroyed following a night-time attack by the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

This is reported by the Russian media, citing Vasyl Ovcharov, the Gauleiter of Novoazovsk.

According to him, following the strikes, the bridges must either be completely dismantled or repaired; however, the Russian bridge-building company ‘Mostovik’ has not yet responded. He added that one side of the bridge has been completely destroyed, whilst the other is also impassable (it was also attacked two weeks ago).

Ovcharov also reported that the bridge is open to pedestrians but access for vehicles is restricted. To get from one side of the town to the other, the Gauleiter recommends taking a detour via the village of Guselshchikove.

Petro Andrushchenko, head of the ‘Centre for the Study of the Occupation’, had previously written that the bridge had already come under Ukrainian fire on the night of 14–15 June. According to his information, the Russians repaired the bridge in 2024 in order to increase freight traffic.
