Apple is preparing an anniversary iPhone with a new design to mark the smartphone’s 20th anniversary

According to Digital Trends, Apple is working on two special iPhone models to mark the 20th anniversary of the launch of the company’s first smartphone.
Internally at Apple, the devices are reportedly codenamed V73 and V74.
The anniversary smartphones are expected to be the successors to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max and will have similar screen sizes.
What might the design look like?
The main feature of the new models is expected to be an updated design.
According to sources, Apple may use a nearly bezel-less display, with the smartphone’s glass curving around the sides of the body.
There have also been previous rumours that the company plans to make the body with a large amount of glass. Because of this, the upcoming models are already being called one of the most striking iPhone redesigns in recent years.
What processor will the anniversary iPhone feature?
It is reported that the smartphones will be powered by the new Apple A21 processor.
Internally, the chip is codenamed Naxos.
It is expected to be manufactured using a 2-nm process. This could boost the performance and energy efficiency of future iPhones.
What is known about the foldable iPhone
According to Digital Trends, the second-generation foldable iPhone may also feature the same A21 processor.
This device is reportedly being developed under the codename V78.
Apple has not officially confirmed work on a foldable iPhone, but reports of such a device continue to mount.
What other new products might Apple be preparing?
Anniversary iPhones could form part of a wider update to Apple’s ecosystem.
The company is also rumoured to be developing AirPods with built-in cameras. The project is reportedly codenamed B798.
According to sources, the cameras are not intended for photos or videos, but to support artificial intelligence features. They could help Siri gather visual information about objects around the user.

The anniversary iPhones are expected to be unveiled in 2027, to mark the 20th anniversary of Apple’s first smartphone.
However, the final release dates may change, as the company has not officially announced these devices.
