The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office wants to confiscate the flat and parking space belonging to Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba
This is stated in a press release from the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The lawsuit was filed because in 2021, Kuleba, who was then First Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, entered into preliminary agreements through his sister to purchase a flat and a parking space in Kyiv. Then, in 2023, whilst serving as Deputy Head of the Office of the President, he organised the formalities for the purchase of these properties, their state registration and maintenance contracts, enlisting the help of his driver.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office analysed Kuleba’s income and concluded that neither he nor his family had the funds for such a purchase. The Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) now wishes to confiscate this property, which is registered in the name of Kuleba’s sister.
Journalists from Bihus.Info published an investigation into this flat and parking space back in July last year. They were the first to uncover that the official was living in a flat in the ‘Shevchenkivskyi’ residential complex, although it is officially registered in the name of his sister, Nadiya Andrianova.
Kuleba himself told journalists at the time that his sister had indeed purchased the flat, but had subsequently transferred it to him: “It’s quite common for me to live in her flats; we used to swap homes because it was convenient. And in this case, we did the same. She certainly has the means to raise funds and save up her own money; this isn’t her first flat.”
As a reminder, Kuleba has held the post of Minister for Community and Territorial Development since September 2024. Prior to that, he was Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, and before that, Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.
