Ukrainians' debts for utilities exceeded 100 billion hryvnias
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing State Statistics Service.
The latest data from the statistical agency as of the end of 2021 indicated that debts amounted to 81.3 billion hryvnias.
As of the second quarter of 2025, the debt reached 106.6 billion hryvnias. This is a slight increase, considering the significant rise in service prices.
The largest debt was for the supply of thermal energy and hot water - 35.2 billion hryvnias. Ukrainians owed 32.3 billion hryvnias for gas, 17.1 billion hryvnias for electricity, 10.2 billion hryvnias for cold water, 8.8 billion hryvnias for apartment building management, and 3.1 billion hryvnias for waste removal.
According to the State Statistics Service, in the second quarter of 2025, Ukrainians were billed 64.3 billion hryvnias for utilities. They paid 51.5 billion hryvnias.
Let us remind you that Ukraine has a moratorium on tariff increases for gas, hot water, and heating, although it does not apply to electricity and cold water.
