On Sunday, 8 March, an unknown woman opened fire on the Beverly Hills home of 37-year-old Barbadian singer Rihanna.
According to media reports, the attacker drove up to the mansion in a car and fired several shots at the house.
The police detained the woman almost immediately after the incident. Eyewitnesses say she appears to be about 30 years old.
Rihanna was at home at the time of the shooting. However, it is unknown whether her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky (Rakim Atelaston Myers), and their three children, three-year-old RZA, two-year-old Riot and five-month-old Rocki, were also at home.
Journalists contacted the Beverly Hills Police Department for comment, but have not yet received a response.
The attacker's motives remain unknown at this time. Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, after the shooting, the street where the singer's house is located was blocked off. The area around the mansion was cordoned off with police tape.
According to media reports, Rihanna lives in the Beverly Hills house with her partner and children. She purchased the mansion, worth about $14 million, in 2021.
The five-bedroom house with a courtyard and swimming pool is located opposite the estate of British musician Paul McCartney. The property previously belonged to Mary Sheldon.
