Due to damage to the railway infrastructure following a massive attack, a number of trains are temporarily running on altered routes.

Following a massive night-time attack by Russian troops and damage to railway infrastructure, a number of trains operated by Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) have been forced to change their routes. This concerns sections in the Rivne, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr regions.

The company has announced that these circumstances may cause train delays. Passengers can track the latest information on train movements and delays on the online service uz-vezemo.

To ensure uninterrupted service in areas where power outages occurred due to the attack, reserve diesel locomotives have already been deployed. At the same time, railway workers are inspecting the damaged infrastructure and carrying out repair work.

Ukrzaliznytsia noted that during the night, monitoring groups were able to secure dozens of passenger trains in a timely manner during a massive attack, when more than a hundred drones and missiles were launched across Ukraine.

The company apologised to passengers for the forced train stops and several night-time evacuations, emphasising that thanks to the coordinated work of railway workers and the actions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, much more serious consequences were avoided.

The company stressed that, despite the shelling, train traffic has not stopped and the railway continues to operate.
