In the space of a week, Ukraine has damaged 8 per cent of the logistics facilities belonging to Russia’s largest marketplace

Over the course of a week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched drone strikes against around 10 per cent of the total logistics infrastructure of Wildberries, Russia’s largest online marketplace, and put 8 per cent of the company’s warehouses out of action.

These figures were published by *Kommersant* based on publicly available data.

The complexes affected were in Elektrostal, near Moscow (250,000 square metres), Kotovsk in the Tambov Region (108,000 square metres), Krasnodar (100,000 square metres) and Nevinnomyssk in the Stavropol Krai (94,000 square metres).

A Wildberries spokesperson told the publication that all four facilities may require full restoration. A source in the property market interviewed by the publication estimated that building warehouses of the same size, excluding equipment, would cost 35.5 billion roubles.

However, the quickest solution may be to restore the damaged centres rather than build similar facilities from scratch, added Alexander Perfiliev, head of the warehousing department at Invest7.

An 8 per cent reduction in logistics capacity represents a significant loss for the business, even if it is a temporary reduction in throughput, experts say. This will affect delivery times, the accuracy of stock distribution and the stability of the entire route network.

They point out that facilities vital to Wildberries have been affected. In particular, the logistics centre in Krasnodar was the main hub for supplying the south of the country. Its closure, along with that of Nevinnomyssk, isolates a key macro-region during a period of peak demand. The loss of the centre in the Moscow region is also a problem, as it handles import flows and trunk freight from across the country, the experts explained.

The decision-making process, which currently can take up to 12 hours, is set to be reduced to a few minutes.
