Three people have died and 700 settlements have been left without power following a storm in Ukraine
This was reported by the State Emergency Service.
The squall caused the most damage in the Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi and Kyiv regions. In total, over 700 settlements across 19 regions have been left without power.
The roofs of dozens of residential buildings and public facilities, educational establishments and vehicles were damaged.
On Sunday, rescue workers carried out over 400 call-outs — cutting up trees, dismantling dangerous structures and assisting those affected.
In Cherkasy, a tree fell onto a quad bike travelling along the road. A woman born in 1997 died as a result of the incident.
In Zakarpattia, a tree fell on a man — he died.
In Zaporizhzhia, a tree fell on a car with a 39-year-old driver inside. The man was trapped by metal structures and sustained fatal injuries.
Also in Zaporizhzhia, a squall damaged the roof of a concert hall right in the middle of a performance. Rescue workers dismantled the damaged structures and ensured the safety of the audience.
In Poltava, a tree injured a child.
In Volyn, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, dozens of settlements were left without power.
Due to the wind, trees fell onto roads and cars, particularly in Zakarpattia, Bukovina and Rivne regions.
In Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions, falling trees severed power lines.
In Vinnytsia region, a water treatment plant was temporarily shut down due to power cuts.
In Kharkiv, the power went out and the metro stopped running due to the bad weather.

On Monday, 27 April, strong gusts of wind will also be observed across most of the country.
A Level I hazard warning — yellow — has been issued.
Rescue services are urging the public to exercise caution.
