Due to Russian shelling, Zaporizhstal is completely de-energised and has stopped production
As a result of massive Russian shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure on 23 December, Zaporizhstal suffered a complete blackout, which led to an emergency shutdown of production.
In extremely difficult conditions, the company's team promptly switched to alternative power sources and safely shut down production processes in accordance with anti-crisis regulations. This helped to stabilise the situation and prevent the development of emergency events.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the staff and emergency measures, we managed to avoid a man-made accident and minimise emissions into the atmosphere. There is no threat to the life and health of the company's employees and residents of the city.
The plant has already implemented operational solutions to stabilise the internal power system. Production is planned to resume after the full restoration of external power supply.
The company thanked the power engineers, rescuers and all the services working to restore the country's power grid after another attack.
