DeepSeek makes its founder the world’s richest AI developer
The net worth of DeepSeek founder Lian Wenfen rose from $16.7 billion to $36 billion following his company’s funding round in June.

This is according to Bloomberg.

This achievement has made him the wealthiest among developers of artificial intelligence models, ahead of Anthropic co-founder Dario Amodei and OpenAI’s Greg Brockman.

The reason for this surge was the start-up’s valuation of $50 billion – approximately five times higher than the initial $10 billion – following the raising of $7.4 billion in investment.

A key factor in the entrepreneur’s personal wealth was his retention of a controlling stake in the company of approximately 78 per cent, which is unique among modern founders in the high-tech sector.

Thanks to this achievement, Liang Wenfen has become the eighth richest person in China.

His success demonstrates DeepSeek’s transition from a private project to the status of a strategically important national asset, developing thanks to substantial financial injections and its own technological infrastructure.
