The ‘Chipa’ netcatcher for combating FPV drones
BlueBird Tech has announced that it is scaling up production of its ‘Chipa’ net launchers, designed to neutralise FPV drones.

This has been reported by the company’s press office.

The company’s production capacity will enable it to manufacture over 500 weapons per month for the military, volunteers and critical infrastructure operators.

The device, designed in a pistol-style form factor, operates effectively at ranges of up to 25 metres. After firing, a special 3×3-metre net deploys in 0.2 seconds, instantly immobilising the drone’s propellers.

Thanks to its rapid deployment, the device is an effective means of last-resort defence.

The decision to commence mass production was taken in response to the growing threat posed by enemy FPV drones near the front line.

‘Chipa’ is now becoming an important addition to existing UAV countermeasures, providing mobile protection for civilian and military facilities.
