Polish Prime Minister Tusk believes that Putin will continue the war until at least winter
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has described the prospect of a swift return to peace in Ukraine as “unlikely”. In his view, Russia will continue the war until at least winter.

He told journalists this during a meeting of the ‘coalition of the willing’ in Paris, according to Reuters.

Tusk stated that he had already discussed the war in Ukraine with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“At present, it seems unlikely that a ceasefire or peace agreement will be reached in the near future, given the hardline stance of Russia and Putin. Everyone expects Russia to escalate its actions, and it is quite likely that Russia will want to continue this war at least until winter,” he noted.

The Polish Prime Minister added that in the autumn, the country would hold joint military exercises with French and British troops. This, he said, was necessary to ensure they were ready to defend Ukraine and the region following the conclusion of an agreement with Russia.

It should be recalled that earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called on his country to refrain from making new financial commitments regarding Ukraine.
