Congressional Democrats release photos of Trump, Clinton and others from Epstein's estate
Democrats in the US House of Representatives have released the first collection of photos from the estate of financier Jeffrey Epstein, including pictures of Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew. This is part of an archive of more than 95,000 photos that the oversight committee received from the estate of Epstein, who died in 2019 in a New York prison awaiting trial in a sex trafficking case. This was reported by The Public with reference to the Associated Press.
The published photos were published without captions or explanations. In particular, they include a black-and-white photo of Trump with six women whose faces were painted over. The congressmen said that they deliberately edited the materials in order not to harm possible victims. According to the Democrats, only about a quarter of the archive has been reviewed, and new publications are being prepared in the coming days and weeks.
The White House accused the Democrats of selectively releasing the materials and trying to form a false political narrative against the president. Trump himself said that he had not seen the photos and called them unimportant, adding that Epstein was often photographed with many famous people in Palm Beach.
The published materials also include photos of Steve Bannon, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Woody Allen, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and lawyer Alan Dershowitz. All of them have previously denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. Prince Andrew lost his royal titles this year due to the new revelations, although he also denies any wrongdoing.
Parallel to this, Republicans on the committee are pushing for testimony from Bill and Hillary Clinton, and the US Department of Justice is preparing to disclose grand jury materials. The publication of the full case files is expected to shed light on the role of other influential individuals and put an end to years of speculation surrounding the Epstein case.
