Dozens of drones have attacked regions in Russia: one person has been killed and others injured
On the night of 30 March, dozens of drones attacked regions across Russia. There have been casualties and damage, according to press offices of local administrations.
Yuri Slyusar, Governor of the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation, reported a massive air attack on the region from the evening of 29 March. According to him, over 60 drones were destroyed in the city of Taganrog and in six other districts of the region. The media are calling this one of the ‘most powerful’ attacks on the region.
One person is reported to have been killed and eight injured in Taganrog.
Falling debris from the UAVs caused fires in several residential buildings and cars, and damaged School No. 26. In total, it is claimed that 12 multi-apartment residential buildings, 27 private houses and 10 cars were destroyed or damaged. In the Neklinovsky District, a gas pipe was damaged by falling debris, and the gas supply was cut off.
The Operational Headquarters of the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation reported damage to a number of flats due to, as stated, a UAV strike in the Prikubansky District of Krasnodar. Three casualties have been reported: one adult and two children.
Meanwhile, local Telegram channels are publishing videos allegedly showing a drone hitting a high-rise building in Krasnodar.
The Telegram channel Shot reported that a series of explosions rang out over the city of Togliatti in the Samara Region, beginning at around 5 am. Flashes were visible in the sky, and the ‘Carpet’ plan was activated at the local airport.
According to the Telegram channel Exilnova, the target may have been ‘KuibyshevAzot’ – this chemical plant has been targeted by drones on more than one occasion.
In addition, local channels reported a drone attack on the occupied city of Alchevsk in the Luhansk region. It is claimed that the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant and a substation were hit.
The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that 102 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight. Specifically, over the occupied Crimea, the Belgorod, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Penza, Rostov, Samara and Ulyanovsk regions, the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, as well as over the waters of the Sea of Azov.
