Svitolina has won her ninth match in a row

The Ukrainian admitted that she is pleased with her performance and the winning streak that has continued following her successful run at the tournament in Rome.

“Tamara has a very awkward style of play, so I had to stay as focused as possible from the start right through to the final rally. I’m glad I was able to play another match here and I’m continuing to enjoy this tournament,” said Svitolina.

“It was the only Grand Slam we could watch”

The tennis player noted that Roland Garros has held a special place in her heart since childhood. According to Svitolina, when she was growing up in Ukraine, it was the broadcasts of the French Open that were most accessible to Ukrainian fans.

“I always dreamed of getting the chance to play here at least once. And now I’ve already played many big matches on these courts. To be honest, sometimes it’s even hard to believe that all this has become a reality,” the athlete admitted.

The Ukrainian also thanked the fans for their support.

“It means a great deal to me. I almost feel at home here,” said Svitolina.
