The road to the record
The run began at a tournament in Rouen, France, where Marta won five matches in a row to claim the title. The Ukrainian secured her sixth victory in Spain, defeating Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan 6-1, 6-3.
This is the best run of her career. She had previously managed to achieve five consecutive wins on two occasions (in 2018 and 2023).
