Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk has set a personal best by securing her sixth consecutive victory on the WTA Tour. This came following a successful start in the second round of the prestigious WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid

The road to the record

The run began at a tournament in Rouen, France, where Marta won five matches in a row to claim the title. The Ukrainian secured her sixth victory in Spain, defeating Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan 6-1, 6-3.

This is the best run of her career. She had previously managed to achieve five consecutive wins on two occasions (in 2018 and 2023).

Marta Kostyuk’s winning streak in 2026:

Rouen (WTA 250): victories over Diane Parry, Katie McNally, Ann Lee, Tatiana Maria and Veronika Podrez.
Madrid (WTA 1000): victory over Yulia Putintseva.

Next opponent

In the third round of the Madrid tournament, Marta Kostyuk will face the winner of the match between fifth seed Jessica Pegula (USA) and Britain’s Katie Boulter.
